There once was a black cat who lived on the prowl
She had lots of friends but some boys were quite foul
They paid for the drinks and all that good stuff
Till one day she awoke and said "fuck-it, enough!"
"I don't wanna stay home!" she cried and she pleaded
"I'll jump off the ledge" feeling oh so defeated
God knows what is next now that summer is over
The worst of the worst: that dreaded November.
The loneliest month of the calender year
No leaves on the trees, just darkness and tears
Let the holidays begin, with its lights and song
Before you know it, another year gone
But as the temps fell she didn't feel sad
Looked at the crisp sky and said "this isn't so bad"
"I can stand still and enjoy my reflection...
Why waste time on another rejection?"
Life's disappointments are never that far
But is it too late to wish on a star?
Time to regroup for once and for all
Shed those dead leaves, for now it is Fall
Autumn in New York, it's good to live it again
